'In Shibuya', HANJŌ’s first EP, released in November, is conceived as a collection of tracks. Captured sparks of creative energy that meander in unexpected directions. Among the eclectic structures and styles, you will find a common thread, David's sonic know-how. The songs all share the improvised and expressive musical approach as a fundamental principle.
The recording process, in alignment with the artist’s music making ethos, was experimental in nature and explored different approaches. Some of the tracks included are hardware performances captured in 1 take and others the complete opposite, meticulously crafted in the box compositions.
The reason behind all the unconventional production choices?
A passion for music, exploring sound and a commitment to share and pursue it no matter where and how.

In addition, the artwork is designed by the internationally acclaimed illustrator Sergio Membrillas. He has collaborated with brands and artists worldwide, including Future Islands, Apple, Vans, Addidas, The New Yorker,... just to name a few.
The release will come out in November under a label collaboration between Far Future- Tokyo, JP and Petit Victory Collective- Copenhagen, DN.

Curated with meticulous attention to detail the compilation GET IN AND DRIVE boasts a handpicked selection of synthwave tracks from some of the most exciting and innovative artists worldwide.
HANJŌ's contribution to the album is the track Terminal 03, co-produced with Fertita. the track serves as a testament to his artistic vision. Seamlessly weaving together atmospheric synthwave melodies and pulsating beats, HANJŌ demonstrates how you can craft a track with limited gear, underscoring the artist's commitment to exploring sounds.
The songs also draws from experiences traveling the world, the inclusion of a note voice sample derived
from an airport evacuation announcement adds a poignant layer of human condition to the
composition.

In this third installment of Minimal City, artists embarked on a unique journey, crafting tracks using an array of samples and field recordings gathered from their respective surroundings. These sources range from the ambient sounds of shops and restaurants to the whispers of nature and the vibrant conversations of people, all ingeniously woven into their tracks.
Hanjos track Derailed is a collaboration with the Tokyo based Russian producer, Khants. You will find it on track 12 of the digital release an opening side B of the tape relsease.
Furthermore, all proceeds from the sales of 'Minimal City Vol. 3' will be directed to our donation fund, which will be allocated to a cause we will be supporting later this year. Join us in our journey toward a more sustainable and harmonious world through the power of music.
